Put ice on the sore for a few minutes every hour. Tea Tea is a common natural remedy for cold sores. Steep a normal black tea bag in boiling water for a few minutes. Let the bag cool and hold it against the cold sore for a few minutes. It will speed the healing and help relieve the pain. Herbs You can use these herbs in a natural remedy for cold sores.
Grapefruit Seed Extract Mix 2 drops of grapefruit seed extract with a tablespoon of aloe juice or gel. Dab it on your cold sore 2 to 3 times daily to soothe pain and speed healing. Salt Put a small amount of sea salt on the tip of your finger and press the salt onto the sore for a minute or two. This is a good natural remedy for cold sores. It will sting a bit, but it will speed the healing time. Garlic Garlic has powerful antiviral properties. Cut a clove of garlic in half and rub the cut side on the cold sore for a few seconds. Cornstarch Make a paste of cornstarch in water. Put the paste on your cold sore as needed to help dry it out.
