Natural Remedies for Athlete's Foot

Looking for natural remedies for athlete's foot? Here are some home remedies that use all natural ingredients that you can use as an athlete's foot cure.

Grapefruit Seed Extract

Rub a few drops of grapefruit seed extract on the area two to three times daily.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is also an anti-fungal. Put 40 drops of tea tree oil in some water and soak your feet in it three times daily.

Mix four ounces of aloe vera gel with a half teaspoon of tea tree oil and apply the mixture to your feet twice daily.

Garlic

Garlic has anti-fungal properties that make it useful as an athlete's foot cure. You can take garlic capsules to help fight the infection.

You can use it topically also. Crush a clove of garlic and put it on the affected area. If that burns too much dilute some garlic juice in water and apply it to the area. Leave it on for an hour. Then rinse your feet off with water and dry them well.

Add some rubbing alcohol and a few cloves of crushed garlic to warm water and soak your feet in it three times daily.

Neem Oil

Mix one tablespoon of neem oil with a half cup of olive oil and apply to your foot twice daily.

Vinegar

Saturate a cotton ball with apple cider vinegar and rub it on the area. Let it dry for thirty minutes and then rinse it off and dry your foot well.

Put a half cup of vinegar in a gallon of warm water and soak your feet in it twice daily.

Salt

Mix two teaspoons salt in a pint of warm water and soak your feet in the mixture twice daily.

Oil of oregano

Apply oregano essential oil diluted in olive oil to your feet twice daily.

Vitamins

You can take these vitamins to help your natural remedies for athlete's foot work faster.

  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin E
  • Zinc

Prevention

Take these steps to speed your healing and also prevent future infections.

  • Keep your feet dry.
  • Put cornstarch on your feet to help get them dry
  • Wear cotton socks
  • Wear flip flops or shower shoes in public showers
  • Don't go barefoot in public places
  • Wash socks in hot water
  • Change socks daily
