Home Remedies for Pink Eye

These home remedies for pink eye will help get rid of the pain, itchiness and discomfort associated with the infection. Tea bag

Place a warm moist tea bag on the affected eye. Let the tea bag sit on your eye for at least 10 minutes several times daily. You can use black, green or chamomile tea.

Compress

A simple compress will relieve the discomfort in your eye. Use it for 10 minutes four times daily. You can use a warm compress or a cool compress. Just use which ever one works best for you.

Baby Shampoo

Mix 1 part baby shampoo to 10 parts water and use the solution to clean your eye. Dip a clean cotton ball in the solution, close your eye and use the cotton ball to clean the crust from around your eye.

Cry

Have a good cry to help flush the eye out. Watch your favorite tear jerker movie and sob away. If that doesn't work you can use over the counter tears and put a few drops in your eye too.

Herbs

You can use these herbs to make a strong infusion. Soak a clean cloth in the infusion and use it as a compress for your eye.

Salt Water

Soak a cloth in boiled salt water. Let it cool and use it as a compress several times a day.

Baking Soda

Mix 1 teaspoon baking soda with 2 cups water and use the solution as an eye wash.
