Chamomile is a popular herbal tea, but did you know it has more medicinal uses than just calming you down after a hectic day. This herb was highly valued by ancient Egyptians for its healing properties. It's an anti-inflammatory and helps regulate digestion.

Other Names

This herb is also known as camomile, mayweed, pineapple weed, Matricaria recutita, and manzanilla.

Appearance

This is a creeping plant that grows low to the earth. It's flowers and stems grow to be about a foot high. The leaves are thin and feathery in appearance. The flowers are yellow and white and have a daisy-like appearance.

The plant is native to Europe and Asia.

Side Effects and Warnings

This herb is related to ragweed. If you have a ragweed allergy you shouldn't use it.
