Here is a cat diarrhea treatment you can try at home. These natural remedies for cats work, but you must remember that diarrhea can be quite serious for a cat. Don't wait any longer than 48 hours to take your cat to the vet if it is experiencing diarrhea. It could be the sign of something much more serious.

If the diarrhea is accompanied by vomitting, loss of appetite, fever, abdominal pain, blood in the diarrhea, extremely water explosive diarrhea, dehydration, or lethary, it is quite serious and you should take your cat to the vet at once.

If the diarrhea is not accompanied by the above symptoms you can try these solutions.

Fasting

Start out by putting your cat diarrhea treatment by having your cat fast. The fast should last 24 hours. Don't make your cat fast any longer than 24 hours. Continue to give your cat water during the fast to stay hydrated. The fast will clean all of the food out of the cat's system and give the digestive system time to rest.

Bland Diet

Break your cat's fast by introducing a bland diet that consists of boiled chicken mixed with white rice. If your cat won't eat rice try mixing chicken with boiled mashed up potato or overcooked pasta. Over time slowly decrease the amount of starch in your cat's meal until it's all chicken. If cooking for your cat is too difficult you can find plain lamb and rice cat food in most pet stores.

Once your cat is eating that easily start reintroducing their normal cat food back into the diet.

Serious Symptoms Warn of a More Serious Condition

Cat diarrhea can be caused by something as common place as a virus or intestinal worms or something as serious as feline leukemina. That's why it's important to keep a close eye on your cat and look out for more serious symptoms accompanying the diarrhea.
