Alfalfa

This herb is also known as Chilean, medicago sativa, al-fac-facah, holy-hay, trefoil, California clover, mu su, buffalo grass, lucerne, and lucerne grass.
Appearance
The plant looks like clover. It has blue-green leaves and purple flowers. It produces seeds in sickle-shaped pods.
Origins
The plant is native to Austrailia, New Zealand, the Americas and Asia. It is one of the first cultivated crops.

The stem, leaves, seeds and sprouts are used.
Medicinal Uses
This herb is rich in vitamins and minerals. It contains vitamins A, D, E, C, and K. It's also high in protein and calcium.
