Hi. I'm Lovelyn the creator of Natural Remedies World.

My interest in natural health led me to starting this website. I'm a massage therapist who has always been interested in natural, holistic cures to illnesses. While my training in bodywork seems to have led me naturally down this path, I have to admit that even before I became a massage therapist I was interested in natural cures. Whenever I got sick I'd read up on natural ways to make myself feel better. I've experimented with all kinds of herbal and home remedies. Some worked better than others. Some where just a joke.

Once when I was a high school student, I decided to treat a very bad cold I had by mixing a whole lot of cloves of garlic with orange juice in a blend. Then I drank the horrible concoction down very quickly. It burned going down and as soon as it hit my stomach I started throwing up. Not a good idea to say the least. Now that I'm older and wiser I have a better instinct about what is and isn't a good idea to try. I also have more experience with specific home remedies and how to use them. My early experiment taught me a lot though.

Once I got married my interest in home remedies grew and I was constantly trying out new remedies on my husband and stepson. I started reading up on herbs and trying all kinds of natural cures. I used herbs and common household products to treat common colds, sore throats, warts and a variety of other illness common in most families. I kept track of remedies that seemed to work and remedies that didn't. I continue to do that today.

When I discovered that I had a uterine fibroid tumor, I decided to try to shrink it myself naturally. I started reading everything I could about it and made my own plan to shrink it. A year later when I found out I had been successful, my commitment to natural remedies was re-enforced.

I started this site because I wanted to share my interest with more people. I also wanted a forum to help others share their favorite natural remedies. That's why I set up the Share Your Remedies page on this site. If you have any remedies that you think work great I encourage you to share them. The information you provide will help others who are searching for home remedies for themselves and family members.

Finding a natural cure for an illness is great. Many of us love to do it, but you do have to be careful. You have to know when to go to the doctor. Don't substitute anything on this site or any other natural remedy site for the advice of a medical professional. It's cheaper to find natural cures online, but it's not always the safest thing to do. You have to realize when an illness is such that you need to see a doctor.
